My barber of 5+ years, a mod/liberal Republican and diabetic, told me today that he's scared for his daughters, family (DACA recipients), his healthcare and business. He asked me if it's going to get worse and, if it does, what that means for his loved ones/business.
I, generally an optimist, didn't have answer for him. I told him these are unprecedented times but my response felt weak. His reply was unabashed: "I can't believe anybody would vote to reelect this man. Nobody cares about the working man; this isn't my party, this is *his* party
I'm closing the shop on 11/3 to give anybody a ride to the polls. Please tell anybody that needs one."

The humanity I felt from our conversation was too genuine not to share. People are scared, struggling. Above it all, they're hopeful.
