My barber of 5+ years, a mod/liberal Republican and diabetic, told me today that he&
#39;s scared for his daughters, family (DACA recipients), his healthcare and business. He asked me if it&
#39;s going to get worse and, if it does, what that means for his loved ones/business.
I, generally an optimist, didn&
#39;t have answer for him. I told him these are unprecedented times but my response felt weak. His reply was unabashed: "I can&
#39;t believe anybody would vote to reelect this man. Nobody cares about the working man; this isn&
#39;t my party, this is *his* party
I&
#39;m closing the shop on 11/3 to give anybody a ride to the polls. Please tell anybody that needs one."
The humanity I felt from our conversation was too genuine not to share. People are scared, struggling. Above it all, they&
#39;re hopeful.
