dedication & loyalty: his whole personality in s1 was being dedicated to his father and restoring his honor.. pretty explanatory there

friendship & kindness: when he joined the gaang, he made sure to help them in their own separate ways (boiling rock, the southern raiders, the firebending masters) and building bonds with each of them, his first friends :,)

hard-working & brave: kinda ties in with the first ones but he did not give up searching for the avatar in order to “earn his father’s respect” after being banished. after his whole character arc thing he faced his father AGAIN, where he redirected the lightning and he faced +

azula in the final agni kai battle, where he took lightning to the heart for katara.
