twitter I forgot to tell you something that happened last week.

so my mom's friend had to evacuate and find places for all of their animals. my mom took in two ducks. but one of the ducks (the small baby one) escaped/was snatched by a wild animal on the second day.

it was one more awful thing on top of a terrible time. and it was compounded by the fact that the duck who survived just kept quacking for her friend. like, constantly. i really thought it was going to put my mom over the edge.

then a few days later when the smoke cleared up a little bit my mom was walking around the neighborhood and the next block overheard some quacking. she knocked and neighbors said this little duck had appeared in their yard and their dog was taking care of it!

since the baby duck can't fly they think that maybe the dog scared a hawk or something that snatched the duck. anyways, it was dirty and scared but fine! and omg when the two ducks reunited it was incredible. they couldn't stop smiling and refuse to be seperated for even a moment
