why this is transphobic, lesbophobic, and exclusionary - a thread! https://twitter.com/btslesfest/status/1307981315707416576">https://twitter.com/btslesfes...
i& #39;d been uncomfortable following the creator of this fest for a while, but this conversation was enough for me 1/2
2/2 by & #39;hope it goes well& #39; i meant & #39;hope you take my concerns into consideration and change the name of the fest. i genuinely thought it was just me being dysphoric and didn& #39;t expect so many people to be put off by the guidelines and warnings, but i& #39;m glad
nothing is accidental or an oversight. she specifically, explicitly excludes non cis lesbians (lesbian trans women and nonbinary lesbians) and also anyone afab who isn& #39;t a both woman and a lesbian
i& #39;ve never seen the phrase & #39;sex-swapped& #39; before. it& #39;s either cisgirl or boypussy or fem or afab or genderswapped/genderbent. here& #39;s another example (nsfw) of her using the words men and women instead of amab and afab, and assuming all her followers/all armys are afab women
and more
and here& #39;s her classifying any concerns/complaints/criticism as hate and lesbophobia. not like there are many types of lesbians with differing ideologies or anything
i struggled a lot with letting go of calling myself a girl, even if it made me want to die, because i didn& #39;t want to be excluded from feminist spaces. i fell in love with a girl in 2012 but didn& #39;t fully embrace the word & #39;lesbian& #39; until this year
so to see someone exclude so many lesbians, so many afab people, just because she wants people to write and draw for her for free, in exchange for rts, under the pretense of female empowerment and lesbian positivity? it& #39;s harmful
trans people are erased enough. lesbians (anyone who isn& #39;t a man and doesn& #39;t feel romantic or sexual attraction towards men) face enough discrimination. don& #39;t further divide the writing/art community because you don& #39;t know how to use ao3 filters
and don& #39;t hide the replies of people telling you why this is wrong. listen, be willing to learn. we all start out with prejudices and it& #39;s our responsibility to let go of them, to make safe spaces away from anything we might struggle with in daily life
and i want to clarify it& #39;s not wrong to imagine bts as cis afab lesbians. it& #39;s wrong to create a fest around it, advertise it as lesbian fest, say & #39;sex swap them& #39;, and label all different opinions as hate towards you
if a non cis lesbian fest existed it would be to focus on our combined struggles, or to show there& #39;s more to our lives than dysphoria and feeling wrong for not liking men. different intention. but still, the best option would be to make an inclusive sapphic fest. thank you

i felt like talking about the flag wasn& #39;t 100% necessary considering everything else, and it would make the thread too long, but it is important! https://twitter.com/pornopengu/status/1308634372552241153">https://twitter.com/pornopeng...
the fest is canceled and her main is gone. i literally would not have had the emotional energy to make this thread if it wasn& #39;t for the overwhelming number of people that spoke against the fest before me, so thank you for showing me and many more people that we& #39;re heard https://abs.twimg.com/emoji/v2/... draggable="false" alt="💜" title="Violettes Herz" aria-label="Emoji: Violettes Herz">
