Before deploying on @HMCSFredericton for #OpREASSURANCE, SLt Matthew Pyke made a commitment to his partner Helen đź’™
They wore matching bands with a promise that Matty would find Helen a unique engagement ring while deployed.
Sadly, SLt Pyke lost his life tragically on Apr.29th in a helicopter accident off the coast of Greece with 5 other shipmates & he was unable to fulfill his quest.
#Freddie family knew of his plans, as he spoke about his love for Helen and his quest for the perfect ring đź’Ť
His Navy family got together & fulfilled Matty’s plan & bought Helen a ring.
This is what #NavyFamily is, this is solidarity, and this is how we all take care of each other.
Helen, you will always be a part of our Navy family.
