How the dream smp is a parallel to the 2016 us election: a thread
When the original parties were announced (swag and pog) it was clear that everyone would vote for pog. This is the same as how when the democratic and republican nominees were announced, it was clear people were going to vote Clinton
However, as another party was added, in this case coconut 2020, the vote were getting more spread out. This is the same as the addition of Bernie sanders to the ballot (while in the end there were two main candidates, many people wrote in sanders)
And here we have schlatt 2020. This was clearly as joke as he came back on the server only a few days before the election. However, a surprising percentage of votes went to him. This parallels the thousands of voters writing in Harambe, a dead gorilla, which ultimately lead to
The vote getting split.
And of course the voter fraud deeply paralleled the concerns of Russian involvement in the 2016 elections.
These combination of events ultimately led up to both trump and schlatt getting elected
