As an emergency physician, I can attest:

Human suffering is not unique to a political party. It is not unique to a state, or a city. It is not unique to a race, a gender, an ethnic group.

Human suffering is universal.
Human loss is universal.
Death, too, is universal.

It is inevitable, no matter our power, our wealth, or our connections.

At the moment when the breath leaves the body - when I pronounce the death - we are, ultimately, all the same.
I will stand, fearlessly, for the fact that every death matters. Ever person matters. Every death deserves to be recognized & mourned -- no matter who they are or where they're from.

When we let others divide us from this human truth -- we all lose.
And I invite all of you, to stand with me.
