Hello Monbebes, I noticed a lot of you are on so I decided to post this thread.

Before anything else, I want to say I'm not making this thread to send you into panic, it's to warn you and therefore avoid panic.
As long as you are properly warned, we can deal better with problems and whatever comes our way.

Last year me and a friend made a thread warning about the possibility of rumors around the comeback and it was ignored by the majority, please don't ignore this one.
As you must know, MX is predicted to make a comeback on October or November. Displeasing as it is, before comebacks we always get rumors floating around to harm the boys and turn the hype into negative attention.
It's soon going to be 1 year since last year's incidents so the negative attention might be even harsher this time. A lot of people inside and outside of Korea want to see where this one year took MX, just for gossip.
Besides the usual rumors before the comeback, some of us got hold of information that MX may be targeted again by a different source than usual. Judging from the purpose of the attacks, they will happen even after they're done with promotions, until around January/February.
We decided to not get into details in order to avoid sharing information that could put us under the radar of the people behind this and cause them to target MX even harder.

For this reason, I'm just going to explain things you should watch out for.
You will know what it is about when it happens - and how to deal with them.

For the >COMEBACK RUMORS<, they are usually started by random accounts because the accusations are too ridiculous to go straight to the news.
The random accounts get retweeted by bots and, once it goes "viral" THEN they get articles written about the rumors, under the guise of innocently reporting news about the attention received by the account, not the rumor itself.
If knetz eat the first rumor up, the following rumors get bolder, that's why we can't comment, quote, post screenshots or anything of the sort. There's always people who try to get likes by stating the obvious about accusations. Don't do that.
Just report silently, join report groups if you haven't already.

For the >OTHER ATTACKS< that can last until around February, MX are going to get erased constantly, their airtime will be cut short and their every action will be dissected by the media and made into headlines.
Basically, they will only be mentioned and seen mostly only when they can be put in bad light.

Even if we don't give this attention, the people behind this have their methods to make articles trend even without engagement, and that eventually brings attention.
If this was in the past, we would focus on reporting and downvoting negative comments/upvoting positive comments, but this is not possible for articles in the entertainment section anymore.

Some news of big groups are being posted in the economy section depending on the subject.
If it's possible, do the upvoting and downvoting, but if it's not, the best we can do is send emails asking for correction of the article, do damage control on Twitter and Korean forums and use that attention to promote Monsta X, drown out the negative comments with promo.
If their name happens to trend, make sure whoever clicks out of curiosity only sees good things in that keyword.

And I always say this but we need to support them to keep them up there, high enough where the hate won't be able to reach them.
Criticizing the winners is like sore loser behavior, but if we leave them aside it's gonna be easy for the hate to reach them.

Even if there's not much we can report in this case, you should still be in a report group chat.
GCs are where we're going to decide how to deal with the situation and spread the course of action. It's very important to keep anything negative out of the tl.

If you don't have a report gc yet, quote this tweet with any emoji to be added to one.
Again, I didn't write this to create panic, I'm telling you what you should expect so you can be prepared, we CAN be prepared and avoid this, we are more organized than last year.
Some people are asking how I know of these details, like how the accounts act.

I talked about two kinds of attacks here, the usual before comebacks (starts on Twitter) and the others (that starts on media).

I know the methods because there's a pattern.
I have been keeping an eye on the Twitter attacks since before Alligator and realized some things.

I checked the likes and retweets and that's how I noticed the engagement comes from trolls/bots. Most accounts engaging are hidden so even if they retweet it won't be seen.
The accounts that can be seen all follow only each other, it's a web of fake accounts created to make it seem like there's a lot of people talking about that.

With this web the rumor tweet can get recommended and reach real people.
It also gives an illusion that the tweet is a trending topic, and that's when news sites write about that topic.

"A post went viral in Korea about [insert ridiculous rumor that this source would get sued for starting, but they can cover with the excuse that it's already viral]"
Other artists' fandoms noticed this pattern too but I won't mention them to avoid bringing back rumors.

Since Follow I have also kept an eye on naver because it was necessary. A huge fraction of negative reactions come from knetz who only give negative reactions to everything.
Their reaction doesn't really count as GP reaction, but if we're not careful it can definitely put them in a bad spotlight.

The other method for attacks though, it's also something that happened before, when Monsta X debuted, there's also a pattern.
I made a thread about this before if you want to check it out, I didn't mention the subject of the attacks purposely back then to avoid bringing them back. You can still see that someone commented an example but deleted after I explained. https://twitter.com/showhyunu/status/1208950168952987653?s=19
This is a big media kind of attack. Knetz are on naver and forums, sure, but the GP opinion is built more on what they see on TV.

If the good simply doesn't get covered and only the "bad" appears constantly, the GP can be easily influenced. This is what you call a media boycott.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting this kind of attack to happen again, the last time it happened was when MBC stole MX's choreography and Wonho exposed them.

After that, MBC didn't cast MX for anything after that and even cut their appearances short.
I would give more details about this but it's very important that I don't so I hope you understand.

Even if you don't trust me, that's fine really, not believing everything you see on Twitter is a good attitude to start actually 😂😂😂
Lastly, I'm getting a lot of notifications so I might not see everything.

If you quoted the other tweet, don't worry, you will be added to a gc soon, I'm writing your @'s down and waiting for the notifications to slow down a little more.
