Reasons to become hafidh - a thread
Everyone applauds the one who has learnt the Quran by heart, however they never have enough motivation to learn themselves. "Its too hard" they say, "maybe when I'm older" they say, "maybe if I was younger" they say.
Did you know the bulk of the sahabah learnt the Quran by heart when they were above the age of 40 so it is never too late. And if you say you want to wait until you're less busy, who promised tomorrow? Who guaranteed you will live to see the next 2 yrs?
The Prophet pbuh says every deed will be judged by it's intention. Even if you start to learn one verse every day, just one verse, and you die after a few months, it will be as if you memorized the entire Quran. Why? Because that was your intention. Just one verse a day.
The literal meaning of the term Hafidh is "protect/safeguard".
In the Quran Allah promises that the state of the Quran and it's words will never change, He promises to protect the Quran. So what does this mean? And how does this link to the meaning of Hafidh?
A hafidh is one who memorises the Quran, the words are in his heart. Allah promises to protect the words of the Quran, meaning He will protect the Hafidth from all troubles. Is this not enough to want to learn? Just one verse a day and Allah will safeguard you. SubhanAllah
The Quran will intercede on the Day of Resurrection, as narrated by Abu Umaamah al-Baahili said: “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (pbuh) say, ‘Recite the Qur’aan, for it will come on the Day of Resurrection to intercede for its companions." (Muslim 804)
