BEING THE GM OF THE PHILADEPHIA 76ers
So, today will be about the 76ers. Yes, the team that just got their ass swept by the Celtics. Seems fun, huh ? Well, not really. But here is how I’d act if I was Elton Brand

First of all, the coaching staff :
Imo, the 76ers coach next season should be :
Stan Van Gundy.
Now, hear me out. He hasn’t coached since a long time ago. But we all know he’s a very quality coach.

He coached that Miami Heat team with D Wade and Shaq on it, reaching the ECF with them. Then went on to make Dwight Howard the 2nd best player in the NBA, by having a gameplan surrounding him with shooters, and nothing else. We all know how it went, with them reaching the Finals.

The plan is going to be the same, with surrounding Ben Simmons with shooters, and playing him at the SF position, not PF. You’ll know why later.

Now, moving to the trades (they’ll be explained later)

CLE receives : Al Horford, 2 2020 2nd rounders (36th, 58th)
PHI receives : Kevin Love

DAL receives : Josh Richardson, Ryan Broekhoff, 2020 2nd-round (49th)
PHI receives : Seth Curry, Justin Jackson

OKC receives : Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, Zhaire Smith, 2020 1st-rd (21st), 2021 2nd-rd (from NY)
PHI receives : Chris Paul, Deonte Burton
Note : This may not happen irl, but it is still very realistic. Not all of these trades may happen.

Now that we are set, here’s the potential starting 5 :
PG : CP3
SG : Seth Curry
SF : Ben Simmons
PF : Kevin Love
C : Joel Embiid
As you can notice, this may very well be the best starting 5 in the league. However, the bench will be really lacking...

Here’s a solution : You have expiring contracts in Alec Burks, Glenn Robinson, Raul Neto and Kyle O’Quinn. Only quality bench players would be Furkan Korkmaz, Norvel Pelle and Mike Scott. Meaning you’d need backup guards if anything.

FA Signings : Alex Len, Alec Burks, Maurice Harkless
All of these players are worthy or rotational minutes. Alex Len has shown signs of good backup C/PF. Alec Burks is ... well, Alec Burks. Maurice Harkless would provide a defensive boost for that bench unit

With the pick Philly has (34th), Philly selects TRE JONES.
He’s the perfect PG for the second unit. Projected to fall to the 43rd pick, PHI can snag him earlier. His jump shot may be lacking, but he got shooters around him. Great defender, good playmaker, exactly what PHI needs

Now, let’s analyze the starting 5 :
PG - Chris Paul :
The leader every team would like to have. Chris Paul proved that, even while getting older, he still has that winning mentality. His shooting is very needed, and Ben Simmons can focus on doing much more than just playmaking

SG - Seth Curry :
Best shooter of all time (%-wise). What can I say, JUST HIT THE 3 !!!!

SF - Ben Simmons :
The most important piece for this scheme to work. Ben will do a little bit of everything (except shooting ... maybe ?). Sharing the playmaking duties with CP3 would help him drive more to the rim and becoming more aggressive instead of just passing

PF - Kevin Love :
Just like Seth, JUST HIT THE 3 !!!
I don’t think Kevin still has the athleticism to grab 15 RPG, but he is still a very above average rebounder, with a deadeye corner 3 and occasional post moves, the perfect fit for our next player if you ask me ...

C - Joel Embiid :
Embiid will be a paint beast. He can become more aggressive with Ben not playing the PF to grab his rebounds or post up. Joel will be a killer inside the paint, offensively, but especially defensively. He said he wanted to win a DPOY, right ? Well, here you go !

Honestly, this team has it all : Offensively, the equilibrium of shooting and inside scoring is there. Defensively, CP3 fir the guards, Ben for the wings, Joel for the bigs, and here you go. However, everything would need to go perfect for them in order for this to happen.
