Battery prices are falling by double-digit percentages every year. Over the last decade they're down by 87%.

This is a technological revolution. https://twitter.com/binarybits/status/1308433358922358784
Everyone thinks about electric cars and grid storage, and those will be huge. But the battery revolution also means long-range drones, self-powered appliances, cheap light portable tools of all kinds, all new kinds of aircraft, easier space travel...a physical tech revolution.
Technological revolutions change the world in unexpected ways.

Look at the way that cheap light portable electric leaf-blowers changed the balance of power in this confrontation between federal agents and protesters in Portland: https://twitter.com/ByMikeBaker/status/1286570907096342528
Anyway, by expanding the space of what we can do, technology weirds the world. We can't yet know what kind of new world cheap solar and batteries create. Just as with all previous technological revolutions, society will have to evolve to deal with the new technologies.
