In other words, Trump has once again engineered a situation in which the Democrats will make all their decisions based on fear. Much like the position he's put the entire country in.

The core equation in Trump's political strategy never changes: maximum fear, plus maximum chaos, plus maximum confusion. Anyone who understands this can see that the confirmation process will start before the election, to *ensure* the maximum amount of fear, chaos, and confusion.

Those those of you comparing Trump's political strategy to that of a domestic abuser have it right: Trump is a serial sexual assailant who thinks like a predator and abuser. He wants his prey, which is the country generally, to be scared and disoriented. Because he's a sociopath.

Trump believes that he emerges victorious only when the country he leads is scared, wounded and dangerously discombobulated. He can therefore be counted on to always take whatever action harms the country the most. It's literally the *opposite* of the Oath of Office that he took.
