This is not a door to the vault. It’s a portal, likely found within the pyramidion of Europa. Where it leads... IDK. We’ll find out if we can even access the thing.

Pyramidion you say? Yup. You can see it here in the background. The Vex recreate this structure in a bunch of places. Asher and Ikora hypothesised a bunch about it, including that they all link to a common interior.

On that note, even if we don’t explore the interior of the structure, stay aware of it. Especially after the Asher Mir lore we just got this structure is clearly important.

Also... we need to talk about a Chonky boi!

Namely, this chonky boi.

Normally vex come in two types. The ones that look like a body (Minotaur) and the ones that float (Hydra). This is one of the few examples of both. Previous example was Panoptes and they were important. I have to assume this is somehow different.

Also, I mean... look at the size of the thing.

Yes that’s an exo chassis by the looks of things and yes it’s integrating with a Vex.

The major point of all this is to say that this is not the first time this link has been made.

Also, check out this further lore behind the creation of the exo from waaaaaay back in the grimoire. Seems to conflict with the idea that the exo and vex are alike, but it also seems to point to the reasons why the exo might’ve been created.

Might not be relevant, but definitely interesting.

Moving onwards. Small note but a cool one. Variks is back. And we’ve also got a whole bunch of new fallen enemies of interest. Namely I think we get a glimpse at one of Eramis’s top lieutenants here. One of the three VIPs mentioned in the Rime shell perhaps.

Also. More fallen stuff including the clearest indication that the rank and file have taken on darkness powers. This fallen was the one making this attack.

These powers mean that Eramis’s entire house may well have directly interacted with the Darkness or may have been gifted that power by the kell.

On that note... The Darkness is strong here.

The mysteries of this darkness are clear and daunting. But the exo stranger presenting the splinter of darkness (yeah that’s it’s name) like this makes me believe that it acts in a similar manner to our ghosts. Aka, it’s a conduit to the Darkness.

Could just be transmat effects though...
