Modern Day anti vax types: We’re not meant to inject chemicals in to our bodies! We’re not meant to eat food from boxes! Our ancestors would be disgusted!!

Basically all of this weird illogical tr4dl1fe stuff is racism and capitalism dressed up in a thin jacket of “hard work and self sufficiency”. Nobody’s *buying* themselves out of poverty and food insecurity, dipshits.

The idea that “our ancestors” (lol) would be horrified at our food and lifestyles today is so laughable. We live like royalty. My grandmother who was born in the 30s said she saw citrus fruits ONCE A YEAR in her childhood.

The reason these types advocate SO HARD for “a return to the old ways” is because destruction of established supply lines and production chains would STILL leave them better off than everyone else because they’re established due to generational wealth and land hoarding.

Burning it all down doesn’t help. The system we have needs an overhaul, but it’s crucial it stays in place because so many people need it to live. The solution isn’t “start over”, it’s “build many MANY more small scale sustainable community systems”.

Why doesn’t every apartment building have an aquaponic system with vermicomposting and indoor greenhouse? Beehives and chickens? Solar panels and rainwater storage and item libraries? Because governments can’t control self sufficient communities by threatening their supports.
