This thread is a helpful reminder to those of us who are non-Jewish that there are denominations of Judaism, they vary by country/region, and if we don't know the subject matter, perhaps we should consult an expert before writing about it. https://twitter.com/Yair_Rosenberg/status/1308405544533798913
I knew that there were Jewish people who were more visibly observant than others (eg wearing of yarmulkes) but until I got to college and made a lot more Jewish friends I didn't know the basic difference between Orthodox/Conservative/Reform Judaism (or that there was one).
Some of this comes from my background. I was raised Catholic, and while I have now strongly turned my back on the Catholic Church for reasons I won't expound on here, they pretty clearly separate the world into "obedient Catholics" and "hellbound".
Looking back on it... I regret buying it for so long.
