I’m going on morning walks again, meaning I’m truly alone with my own thoughts MEANING it’s time to complain about Beastars again

I wasn’t a big fan of the first arc, but I saw promise. Promise that was pretty well unfulfilled the second the series pivoted towards a murder mystery. Don’t get me wrong, I love murder mysteries, it’s just not where I thought the series’ strengths were.

Beastars paints a world that’s miserable and antagonistic at its core, but filled with people wanting to make connections anyway. I loved that. The second arc kinda put that on the back burner along with most of its characters.

Tangentially related, it’s weird how what was a pseudo slice-of-life series turned into what is basically a superhero origin story.

I’ll probably delete this thread later. Even I get tired of seeing me complain about comics.
