It's #NationalVoterRegistrationDay ! This year, let's make sure #votingisafamilyaffair and make sure everyone in your household is registered to #vote . Here's 9 tips for registering to vote in Tennessee: THREAD ⬇️
Make sure you're eligible to vote.
Register online. It only takes 5 minutes: http://proudvoter.org/equityalliance
You can also register by mail using the paper form. Come see us today in Antioch at the Kroger Plaza 4-6pm to get registered!
Register in person with an election commission official. This will ensure you can request an absentee ballot. Find your TN county election commission: http://tnsos.org/elections/election_commissions.php
Complete the paper form entirely. Don't risk your application being thrown out by leaving boxes unchecked. Call us if you need help.
In Tennessee, voter registration is nonpartisan. You do not have to declare a political party in order to register to vote.
You also don't need to show your photo ID in order to register. You do, however, need it to vote in person at the polls.
Don't wait! You must be registered 30 days before Election Day in Tennessee. The deadline is October 5th, 2020 to vote in the November 3rd federal/state elections.
Lastly, once you've submitted your application, go back and check your status every year to make sure you've not been taken off the voter rolls (it happens way too much in TN!). If you haven't received your card in about a week, contact your county office.
