if the BBMAs are basing their awards on the artist 100 and billboard 200 peaks/year-end etc., then i can see why BTS are not nominated (15 on the former, mots:p ranked 51 on the latter).

the question is why rappers like drake, travis scott etc. don't get the nom, but jobros do.
on the year-end top artist chart:

5. drake
6. travis scott

11. jonas brothers (???)

on the year-end billboard 200 chart:

6. drake - scorpion
7. meek mill - championships
8. travis scott - astroworld
10. a boogie wit da hoodie - hoodie szn

25. jonas brothers - happiness begins (!!!)

one would like to think that the criteria was "no hip-hop artists, just pop artists"--already a stupid and fairly racist criteria for a "top artist" primary category considering hip-hop is the most popular genre.

but POST MALONE is one of the 5 nominated artists.
so post malone gets to make trap-influenced songs with 21 savage and west coast-style songs with YG and g-eazy--just examples from an album FILLED with hip-hop songs--and he gets pop artist noms, but drake, a boogie and travis scott, who are basically just as melodic, do not?
never mind that BTS had way better sales worldwide than basically all of these artists. if it's a US award, it's a US award--call it what it is, an american MMA, a local award. but you have black artists basically doing the same shit to more success as white artists and no noms?
i wanna know what criteria this is based on because whatever statistic from billboard tells me definitively that jobros were more popular and had a bigger album than DRAKE and TRAVIS SCOTT between march 2019 and march 2020 is most definitely a bad statistic.
