Last week, I had this discussion with @Kendra_Okpara about client acquisition

There are many platforms to get clients for freelancers- Facebook, Linkedln, Upwork, even Twitter

I tried them all, and you too should

But I *prefer* Upwork & Fiverr

And here are my reasons...
1. As a 🇳🇬n the odds were stacked against me. But I realized getting clients on Upwork & Fiverr was way easier than Facebook & Linkedln.

2. It wasnt just easier, it was more consistent. Last year, I sent up to a thousand cold emails & about 7% converted.

Unlike Fiverr...
whereafter building up my profile, I could send 10 proposals 2 jobs, and on many occasions 3 jobs

3. Earning in💰 is a huge advantage. I may write an email for $75, quite small compared to what I should charge, but doing that for 10 clients a month brings in about 250k in naira
250k is a decent monthly pay by any 🇳🇬n standard. Plus I was selling other services bringing in revenue to my pocket

4. The spending power of 🇳🇬ns is nothing compared to first world countries

Let's face it...
How many 🇳🇬n businesses can pay a copywriter 180k for just a sales letter... very few.

But I realized *millions* of business owners from the US, UK, Canada could pay me $500 and more for the same sales letter.

I realized where my chances were better off.
So in conclusion...

I faced reality.

Yes, I may get some well-paying jobs on Linkedln from time to time.

But I needed consistency. I needed cashflow for other businesses.

And Upwork & Fiverr provided all that for me.
