Kenyans, let us not be so preoccupied with dog and cat breeds. Unless you're planning to fork out some serious money and have researched the attributes and requirements of purebreds, mixed breeds are amazingly capable.
Do NOT be taken in by all the adverts you see online and on WhatsApp. Get referrals of reputable and humane breeders. Contact @EAKennelClub and @angiyo58 if you want REAL purebred or pedigree dogs.
I know of several people who import dogs from Eastern Europe, South Africa, and even Egypt. I know of several people who have paid hundreds of thousands of shillings to such importers.

Because puppy mills exist in all the places I have mentioned above. 12 pups crammed into a crate and shipped like cargo. No proof of anything apart from some dodgy paperwork and mixed up microchips.

Even mid-range priced pups. Are you prepared to shell out 15 to 30k for a pup with highly questionable breeding? I know of one notorious MUHINDI lady who sells "Maltese terriers" for up to 45k. Those pups had parvo and were dead within a few days. Vet bills exceeded 50k.
Said lady will never allow you to see the pups parents or the place where they were born or the conditions in which they are kept.

She works in cahoots with unscrupulous vets and even fake vets, and provides very dodgy looking vaccination certificates.

Pay KSh8000 or so and get a nice dog from @TnrTrust Or @KSPCAKenya. The cost covers neuter/spaying and you will get a fully vaccinated animal.
