I am totally confounded by some of the responses to a temporary court being housed in a building that has been and remains a theatre. I don't understand why this action is being framed as collusion with the state or how the criminal justice system becomes more aggregious...
...in it's injustices than before. I wonder about each of our relationships to criminality; being criminals, victims, witnesses. I note some romanticism in comments which imply (to me) those posting have never been engaged in the criminal justice system in any meaningful way...
Lets talk about notions of justice, who gets justice, about 'civil society' & civic duty for sure. Artists repurpose buildings often without discussion of the morality or impact & so this current moral outrage genuinely confuses me.
