Our children are our responsibility. At times we miss the invaluable for the costly and feel we have done enough.

BE A STORY TELLER

🎈Stories affect the soul of children.
🎈They create curiosity in the child and pave way for (readily)...
1/12
...understanding of deen
🎈Stories can change a child’s behaviour & it is one of the most subtle way to advise
🎈It implants desired values by getting the children to sympathize with the protagonists & making them live the conversations & events depicted by the story.
2/12
👌🏻Do in a way, children love & not like a mundane task. Use language, tone & expressions that captures the hearts and minds of children
🤷🏻‍♂️Verify source of the stories & avoid the doubtful. It leaves a bad effect on children when they grow & know it was fake
3/12
👌🏻 Meaningful stories.
⛔Not those with terrible ends
⛔Exclude detective stories & novels that introduce children methods of crime & stories where the protagonists fall into major sins, such as killing, drinking alcohols and fornication. Don't fall for jaw dropping effect
4/12
🏆Challenge is to have stories that are simple, realistic. Challenge because we live in a make believe, artificial story world - The Harry Potter, Frozen, Cindrella, and even paedophile movies like Cuties.
⚠These stories also promote Shirk and Kufr & many other major sins
5/12
🧾 Examples of purposeful stories:

🌹What makes children watchful of Allah The Almighty, such as The story of ‘Umar ibn Al-Khattaab (ra) & the seller of the milk & her daughter.
6/12
🌹What makes children grateful to Allah The Almighty for His blessings, such as The story of the blind man, the leprous man and the bald man.

7/12
🌹Stories of love, obedience and courage of sahabaas for Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)

🎈Try to help them memorize as much hadeeth as she can of ahaadeeth, and reward them for that… I will share a beautiful story here....I am sure you will LOVE 💓 it
8/12
🌹Maalik ibn Anas had a daughter who memorized his knowledge – i.e. al-Muwatta’.
She used to stand behind the door and if a student made a mistake she would knock on the door, and Maalik would be alerted and would correct him.
9/12
And it was narrated that al-Nadar ibn al-Haarith said:

“I heard Ibraaheem ibn Adham say: ‘My father said to me, O my son, seek hadeeth, and every time you hear a hadeeth and memorize it, I will give you a dirham, so I learnt hadeeth in that way.”
10/12
Lot more to say, but I will conclude by saying

We have enough real stories, of forgiveness, mercy, compassion, courage, punishment, reward… all positive attributes that we may wish our children to have.
11/12
It will strengthen their fitrah, it will help you do dawah indirectly, draw them closer to Islam, make them aware of our heroes. Your children will in turn relate it to their peer. And it becomes a sadq-e-jaaria.
