govt hasn't been able to assure farm prices outside the crops it procures, ie wheat and rice. for every other crop subject to vagaries of the market, with no viable insurance schemes to help farmers, spate of suicides in every cash crop directly tied to this, & this is the model?

btw all this in a year where it's evident how important food security provisions are in india, the market hasn't fed a covid-starved (modi-aided) nation, procurement tied to the MSP regime has. NREGA, food security, procurement, all that modi once mocked is all now relies on.

and this bill will do to the procurement regime what the govt has let the market do to govt health care, education. what it is doing to the railways. by the time the damage is evident, it is irreversible
