*How the new draconian agriculture laws affect everyone from farmers to small businesses and to consumers*

1) The Essential Commodities Act (1955) limits the maximum amount of grains that one businessman could hold.
This ensured that no big businessman was able to store large quantities of grains thereby not creating monopoly.

The new act passed by the BJP government removes the maximum storage limit. Thus any big businessman like Ambani can hoard all the grain, create artificial scarcity
Thereby increasing the price and affecting crores of consumers. As there will be monopoly, farmers will also not get fair price and they will be forced to sell at a much cheaper rate.
This is no-coincidence that Mukesh Ambani bought Big Bazaar along with other businesses that deal in agriculture produce and this law was passed and The Minimum Support t Price (MSP) that was there ,has been waived off too.
This means that big businesses who can now store large quantities of grain, thereby creating monopoly are not obliged to pay the MSP.

To sum up, large businessmen like Ambani-Adani will buy at a much cheaper rates as there is no MSP thus affecting the farmers.
They will hoard grains as the limits have been removed, they will create artificial scarcity that will increase the price and then sell at a much higher price thus affecting crores of consumers. As one-two businessman will have all the storage, this will also affect small traders
