Since April, UKRI with help from @IpsosMORI has monitored public sentiment toward science and scientists. Today we’re releasing the findings, as we mark 20 years since the seminal House of Lords Science and Technology Committee Science and Society report. /1
Among the issues we examined: How has Covid-19 affected trust in science and scientists? Is there public appetite for reliable scientific information on #Covid19? Do people see the value of science for the UK? /2
The findings show a real need to ensure that we engage with all sections of society, so that research and innovation involves everyone, and works for everyone. /3
How we create a research and innovation system that works for all, will be on the agenda at #SciSociety20 – a free online event today featuring @ASollowayUK @UKRI_CEO @ProfRWinston @SMC_London @imrankhan @CEMatterson @erinmaochu @sarahcastell @Jackstilgoe
