Hi--I don& #39;t know any of you ladies, but I came across your profiles via writer Twitter. (I& #39;m a fellow writer--so...hi!
Through reading, I& #39;ve put together who you& #39;re talking about above. I don& #39;t presume to know personal details of situations, or what& #39;s all happened, but I
don& #39;t think it& #39;s right to bully someone like this on Twitter. To me, it sounds like you ladies are just having a verbal field day at her expense, and mocking things about her, and I just don& #39;t think that& #39;s right.
Again--I& #39;m not presuming to know personal details on either end

or y& #39;all& #39;s personal experiences with editors (or each other), and I definitely cannot speak to any anti-Black sentiments (which is wrong, no matter who it comes from) that have occurred along the way. I debated whether to say anything on this thread, but I had to speak up, b/c I
don& #39;t think bullying is right, in any form. It makes me sad, too, because one of the things that I& #39;ve loved seeing as a (relatively) new freelancer is how willing people have been to share leads, and the way our community refers things to one another, and the general spirit of
lifting up BIPOC writers (I think someone said she was white above, but I& #39;m pretty sure she& #39;s Latina?...so wouldn& #39;t she technically be a BIPOC writer as well? Please correct me if I& #39;m wrong on that front.) during this time of stress and upheaval for stuff in the writing world.
I also mulled over what to say because (esp b/c), as a white woman, I do not, in any way, want to contribute to the history of consistent discrediting of Black women that occurs from white women (and society in general) via "tone policing," and really just the flat-out dismissal,
downplaying, or denial of the veracity of Black experiences of racism that occur daily. I know that was one of the concerns mentioned above (and please, if anything I said there *was* anti-Black or "tone policing"--point it out to me! I& #39;m still learning, daily, on how to better
practice anti-racism, and I& #39;m not afraid to hear--in fact, seriously, I welcome it--when a Black woman or POC corrects me, or is like, "Yo, lady--this is why x is wrong."
What I am ultimately trying to say in my (way wordier than I intended :P) Tweet is, that I think it is
What I am ultimately trying to say in my (way wordier than I intended :P) Tweet is, that I think it is
really, really, REALLY important to treat others the way we want to be treated, that it& #39;s not right to bully or mock people--and obvs that it& #39;s not right to be anti-Black. I want to also (again) emphasize that I can& #39;t speak to personal histories involved in this, or relationships
with editors, because I& #39;m pretty green to the field as they come, I don& #39;t know what& #39;s all happened behind the scenes. I do know that just as a human, on a person-to-person, and writer-to-writer level, I really don& #39;t think it& #39;s effective or right to make fun of someone in the
vein that things were progressing in the comment section above.
So! Since I& #39;m also here, one of y& #39;all just announced a new book deal on grief with Simon and Schuster? Congratulations on your accomplishment!!! That& #39;s awesome!! <3 I look forward to reading it! This year has

been one where I& #39;ve been processing some deep internal wounds, too, and it is DEFINITELY not easy--so props on writing about it so publicly. That& #39;s brave and lovely and vulnerably courageous--and it& #39;s a book deal!! That& #39;s so rad!!
Anyway--it& #39;s nice to meet all of you, I hope you

have a great rest of your evening (or whichever time zone you happen to be in :)), and I hope whatever has gone down with y& #39;all works itself out. God bless all of you, you& #39;ll be in my prayers, and congratulations to every single accomplishment all of you have achieved so far,
from bylines, to editing positions, to busting through discriminatory societal barriers, to getting kickass book deals!! (Maybe this Twitter thread can count as my first book proposal due to length--seriously, props if you made it to the end. :P) Hope y& #39;all have a good night. <3
