I’ve seen a lot of student armys ask how to balance school and as someone who’s in university and has made the deans list (3.8+ GPA) the past 4 consecutive semesters I’m gonna make a small threat of what has helped me bc good grades are cool, taehyungie told me so himself
First strategy is basic but spread your work throughout the week!! Yes, working last minute can sometimes result in good grades but you’re not going to retain it or even if you do remember things there will always be pieces missing. You want to work SMART not HARD!!!
Something tht really helped me was making a list of everything tht needed to get done, with the deadlines right next to them. PRIORITIZE what’s due first, for obvious reasons. However if everything’s due at the same time, I found tht starting with the hardest/heaviest assignments
Is best bc you get the difficult (time consuming) things out of the way before moving on to something tht might take you less than an hour to complete!! Some of my friends like to get easy stuff done first but I personally find tht if I dedicate more time to the time consuming
things, I tend to do my best work!
SECOND: when writing notes ALWAYS ALWAYS include the date somewhere in BOLD so you can always go back to a particular day in time and if you ever miss a class you’ll have the EXACT date to ask for notes from someone! (Not encouraging skipping)

but I know sometimes life is hard and things get hard so if missing a day in the semester will not be detrimental, usually they give a day off tht won’t be penalized but check ur syllabus just in case it says otherwise!!!!!
THIRD: YOU WONT GET STUFF DONE EVERY DAY AND THATS OKAY!!! designate a day in the week where you won’t do anything, and you’ll give yourself a break!! I cant emphasize how important this is. Burn out is real and happens REALLY fast! Giving yourself a day off won’t hurt, trust me
quick intermission to say I am a st*m major with 2 minors in liberal arts so I’m pretty well rounded when it comes to school :) also here to remind u tht school isnt for everyone and THATS OK!! Also reminder to study something you’re passionate about, do it with purpose!!

OK SEE THAT LEADS ME TO MY FOURTH POINT: you win some you lose some!!! Sometimes you’ll find yourself getting a lower grade than expected and be upset about it, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE UPSET!! but remember that it’s not the end of you get a C or even D in an assignment bc as
long as you make up those points in another assignment, it will average out!! School is a LONG road and the point is to make progress and get better! Sometimes it will feel like you’re behind but don’t compare your journey to someone else’s bc tht will get you!! THIS IS CRUCIAL!!
FIFTH: don’t compare yourself to others, not even your friends bc everyone has things they’re good at!!! You might be good at math but your friend excels in art or you might be a fuckin prodigy at the violin while someone else is the next scientist who will solve global warming
EVERYONE has their strengths, you just have to find them!!

SIXTH: studying will come in different forms, FIND THE ONE THAT HELPS YOU!! I personally get stuff done when I’m alone and rewrite the study guide but I know plenty of people who like groups and type the guide!!!

Also I like to break down the study guide by chapters, and have it done about two days before the exam just so those last 48 hours I can simply review bc I have already looked through the info now it’s just review
SEVENTH: if you are in a group, it’s best to divide the review &
SEVENTH: if you are in a group, it’s best to divide the review &
Assign everyone a part of it!! BE CAREFUL WHEN CHOOSING YOUR GROUP THOUGH bc everyone learns differently and someone might not include something they find important while to u it’s the most crucial part of all!!
So just remember to utilize outside resources when it comes to school such as YouTube!! Sometimes you’ll find tht someone in there explains things better than your educator and thts ok!! Also DONT FORGET TO BE GENTLE WITH YOURSELF!! Give yourself room to learn and make mistakes
I want to emphasize how you should use the resources provided to you by the university, prof and other students!!! Dont be afraid to ask for help!!! Someone will always be happy to help, dont struggle in silence! Go to sessions taught by a TA, watch YouTube videos, read the book
LASTLY: make time for yourself! Enjoy being in college, yes obviously focus on academics but also give yourself a break now and then!! Discover your passions OUTSIDE of ur major, make friends and join clubs/organizations/volunteer! Enjoy your school years bc they CAN be fun too:)
