daily reminder that you're doing great! you're here! I know with school starting (at least in the us) recently people are probably stressed and maybe overwhelmed with work. Please be nice to yourself and take care of your body and take mental health breaks if you need to!! +
Some tips for self care:
•If you're having a tough time, try celebrating the little things! •When feeling down try eating, hydrating, listening to music, showering or practice some deep breathing!
•take breaks and don't overwork yourself !
•especially with home and school being in the same place it can be super hard to create a boundary between the two
•go outside! staring at a screen all day is going to make anyone drained
•spend time with your pets! video call your friends!
•do something creative!
I've had a really rough quarantine so I'm not trying to preach, my anxiety and depression are crippling and I want to make sure others know they are loved and appreciated ❤ I understand how hard it is to take care of yourself sometimes, whether it be basic hygiene or sleeping +
and eating properly. my dms are always always open and im so proud of all of you!! no cap come flex on my tweets and ill hype you up! or @ me and the hype squad (me) will be there! interacting on anitwt has been a really great experience for me and i just want to keep that going!
there is also no shame in getting help! I take medication everyday and go to therapy once a week. Getting diagnosed with anxiety or depression can be really hard on the self esteem but your feelings are so valid and it does get better. I promise ❤
in summary: you're here and that's all i can ever ask for! another reminder: your intrusive thoughts or mental illness/illnesses do not define you (unless that is ok with u thats totally valid) and you deserve to receive/get help and have a good life ❤
last thing: your school performance doesn't equal your value as a person. (This is something i am working on accepting too) The most humiliating part of my life so far was having to switch out of two classes in early March 2020 (pre covid) due to my depression and anxiety getting
really triggered by the month of March and the health unit we were covering- mental health (how topical!) All my friends are super smart and always seem to do well in school without trying and just know every student is different and i wish you the best of luck at school! +
thanks to the potential adhd I have, school is really hard for me, as I can't focus easily and I can study for hours but remember nothing which is so frustrating. If you're taking a class that is way too fucking hard (for me, chem and math) please please please do not feel +
ashamed for switching out of the class! that is your business and mental health should always be a priority. Just because you don't have straight A's or a 4.0 GPA does *not* mean you are going to be unsuccessful and that you're worthless, contrary to the American school system+
which is a whole other topic. You! Are! Worthy! all the time anytime! Regardless of your grades! Social status! Mental health!
