CTA students, this is for you: I’ve been getting DM’s from CTA students wanting tips/encouragement just before they tackle the most important exam of their lives. I will share tips down below. For those who‘ve conquered this exam....you’re more than welcome to add your tips.....
1. With two weeks or less before the exam, you should be using this time to revise and work on your exam technique. Your lecturers can never over emphasize the importance of exam technique.....don’t ignore the basics.
2. Pay enough attention to each subject.....even the ones you don’t like, for example Cost Accounting 😭. Jokes, remember you need to pass all subjects for you to get CTA. So all of them matter significantly. Avoid dedicating all your efforts to your best subject.
3. My lecturers always told me to never study the day or two before the exam. I did exactly that. There’s too much information to process and you don’t want to stumble upon something you don’t know the day before exam. It will only cause you to panic and be anxious.
4. Fin Acc: Exam technique matters greatly here. Get those easy marks. Reference your calculations. If you show a random amount with no reference and it happens to be wrong, you get 0 marks 🤦🏿‍♀️🤦🏿‍♀️ Do what you’re lecturers have been singing to you all year!
