All of its people - dead & gone.
Would that be more alarming to more Americans than saying 200,000 people have now died from COVID in the U.S.?

Would it be more frightening & would more people take action if it was reported to us every single day since March that an invisible gunman was moving through Salt Lake City and killing over 1,000 of its men, women, & children? Every single day. Since March.
And, what if we knew that the leadership in Salt Lake City (the only ones with the power & resources to stop the invisible gunman swiftly) did next to nothing, every single one of those days, since March?
And, what if you knew that only about half of Salt Lake City’s citizens were willing to do the few things that they had the power and resources to do in order to help stop the invisible gunman and keep more of their fellow citizens from dying?
Over 1,000 of their fellow citizens who were being killed by this invisible gunman who tortured the victims before he killed them and tormented the victims’ loved ones, not allowing them to comfort or even sit with their dying husband, mother, son. Every. Single. Day.
And, what would we all think if one day - this day - we woke up to the news that all 200,000 residents of Salt Lake City were gone? No more bustling streets, no more crowded bars after football games, no more schools, no more Christmas shopping in Salt Lake City, Utah anymore.
Because the last of their 200,000 residents have been killed by the invisible gunman on this day, September 21, 2020.
What the hell are we doing? What is the matter with the people of this great nation?
The current attention span & attitude of so many of ‘us’ that ‘our country is so big, who really gives a shit if Salt Lake City is gone’ is a plot twist I honestly never saw coming.

If we stay on this same path - no better and no worse, losing around 1,000 of our fellow Americans each day - the men, women, & children of Inglewood, California will all be gone by New Year’s Eve.
(Hmm . . . come to think of it, I wonder if the fact that the real men, women & children who have died of COVID actually match the population makeup of Inglewood instead of Salt Lake City has anything to do with how much we care & are willing to do???

Note: As we now know, the leadership (with the power & the resources) knew all about that ‘invisible gunman’ in January & did next to nothing to save ‘Salt Lake City.’ We also know, the real number of Americans who’ve died from COVID is far more than 200,000.
