Names that I think should make a comeback: Mortimer, Eugene, Myrtle, Bruno
One of 9yo’s middle names is Ernest after my grandfather and at the time I thought it was one of those names you bury deep where no one will find it, but then he had a classmate named Ernest and it was extremely adorable on a child?? Idk made me rethink things
I think some of the best baby names are the ones that you can’t imagine as contemporary baby names. Also when we picked Theodore we thought it would be very old-fashioned and rare, but it turns out many other parents spontaneously had the same idea as us
Hilariously, part of what led to Theodore was that if he was a girl he would likely have been Josephine after Jo March. So ... Theodore Laurence 🤷‍♀️ (also when he was born he just didn’t look like any of the names on our shortlist)
I’m also coming around on all those German names that seemed so opulent in the late 19th century. Hildegard! Gertrude! Also due for a revival: Agnes. Agatha, Edith
