This sort of advice is a great way to completely destroy the industry and America& #39;s free press.

Maybe what we should do instead is encourage young people to rise to positions of power within the industry and create reform instead. https://twitter.com/dylanmatt/status/1308197263567618051">https://twitter.com/dylanmatt...
There& #39;s no profession left in America that isn& #39;t exploited. Running from our problems isn& #39;t going to put people in a better position. And silencing young voices isn& #39;t going to do that either.
Here& #39;s my advice to young journalists: This industry isn& #39;t easy. It will be a struggle. Companies will try to exploit you. But more then anything right now journalism needs passionate, ethical people to help rebuild it in a new way. It will be a risk, but you are needed.
If you are a journalist that hates journalism so much that you have given up on it as a profession, you shouldn& #39;t be giving advice to young journalists. In fact, maybe you should clear out of the industry and open a job up for more diverse voices to replace you.
Don& #39;t tell young journalists to run - - USE YOUR POSITION TO HELP THEM LEARN HOW TO NAVIGATE THE INDUSTRY
