my mind is caught up once again on the hilarity of modern ding rong being raised in a siheyuan that is 70% grandmas. he does tai chi in the park w them. he meets wang zhi bc WZ is visiting his great uncle wan an& he sees this 1 young guy exercising in the park w old ladies https://twitter.com/wawamouse_/status/1304630366691450881

it's just a row of grandmas on these things and ding rong is there too, just hanging with his 6 grandmas (he's such a good grandson) and wang zhi has to stay with wan an for like a week before he figures out his own apartment (he's moving into the area)

he's like, WELL my stingy ass yeye just sits in the dark all day w/o AC, so even when i come back in the evenings, it sucks. So he goes and sits out in the park w his phone (busy city boi) instead, and the other youngish fellow is thee, and he's doing pull-ups on the bars

(*there) So anyway, bc DR hangs out w grandmas, he already knows who WZ is, and that he's just staying w Lao Wan. He comes over (all sweaty??) when the sun is just past the horizon, and says hello, says he works at the neighborhood grocery store & if wz needs anything, come over

wang zhi is like "well yeah. it's the grocery store, of course". and DR is like, no, Anything. and WZ is like "am i being hit on?!" (he's not. it turns out DR will give him stuff the grandmas want to give WZ anyway)

the grandmas told ding rong to watch over wang zhi bc they don't think Wan An will make WZ's stay comfortable (bc he's cheap). &while wang zhi mostly goes out during the day bc he can take a taxi&still has work&all that, he finds himself going to sit out in the park in evenings

and on the weekend,his friends w their (SZ's) car come around to pick him up&Tang fan is like Ooh! grocery store!! let's get snacks~&the store is incredibly cheap,&tang fan buys 录舌头 for all of them and then insists they all sit there and eat it before they go on their day trip

and tang fan is chatting w DR at the counter, like eating this ridiculous gelatinous popsicle( 录舌头=green tongue) and wang zhi wants to hit him over the head, but he's also trying to eat his popsicle as fast as possible (before it goes tongue like)& it gives him a brain freeze

& SZ is like "are you ok"& wz is like"yes now let's go. TF do you have all your snacks"& as they're walking out the door, tang fan is like "is the hot guy from exercise park, too?"& wang zhi shoves him out through the plastic flaps that hang over the door&keep it cool inside

anyway, yada yada, somethin goes wrong w/Wang Zhi's apartment& he has to stay w Wan An longer. rude! for the most part it's ok. WZ comes &goes. He chats w DR at the grocery store sometimes. he doesn't get why DR works at the grocery store after WA mentions

DR went to med school (dropped OUT of med school, wan an cackles).surely that means DR is smart& could go elsewhere? try a diff path? but no,DR stays around his grandmas and works at a tiny store. he even knows how to fix WZ's phone when it breaks!

&one week TF & SZ go out of the city on some hiking trip or something
(WZ is @ TF: hiking? You?; TF says something about how the beauty of nature should be experienced)
&WZ doesn't really want to hang out w/his other friends, mostly work ppl he can stand only 60% of the time
