she begins to lead on this, fascinated, and she contacts qin cangye (qin su’s father). he’s desperate. she speaks to the new sect leader, jin rusong, and he pales when he hears the name qin su. his aunt.

he was told she was dead. he had no idea that there had been no proof. he accompanies her in the search.

after months of looking, they stumble upon the treasure room. (i don’t remember/i’m not sure how accessing that room without jin guangyao would work but just pretend that they figure it out lol).

inside, is qin su. but she doesn’t wake up. blah blah blah so it turns out that the solution to her immobility/coma is not A True Love’s Kiss because that’s lame as hell, but it’s An Act Of Pure Kindness.

mianmian doesn’t know qin su. she never met her before. all she’s learnt is from accounts of others. but her efforts to save qin su and give her a second chance at a happier life inevitably count as that Act Of Kindness, and qin su wakes up

the rest is history. oh, also, xue yang never killed xiao xingchen or a-qing & mianmian and qin su become travelling cultivators (although qin su’s cultivation levels are very low) and they stumble upon songxiao and a-qing & adopt a-qing :)
