Lets do a Haskins thread as I watch the All-22, shall we? Play 1. Works to his left, wants the wheel to Gibson, LB stays on top of it well, works back inside to Sim/Thomas combo. End zone angle shows nice placement on inside shoulder to Thomas, protecting from DB. Good start
2nd throw, 3rd and 6. Washington go 2x2 with a 4 verts combo. Cards play man with single deep safety. Haskins takes his best matchup outside, which is TE Logan Thomas on a LB. Not a bad ball, Thomas couldn't hold on.
2nd drive, 3rd throw, 2nd and 4. Mesh concept. Again looks to wheel to Gibson, again Cards cover it well, comes back down inside to second read, which is Sims on the shallow cross. Hits it for a first down. Perhaps wants better slightly better ball placement, but got the 1st down
1st worrying play here, 4th drop back, 1st and 10. McLaurin wins off the line here and is on for a TD. Not sure what Haskins read is here, so don't know if he sees him. But worrying thing is running into sack from relatively clean pocket. No need to bail when he did. Bad sack.
Next throw, 3rd&10. Odd looking play, looks like dagger concept from the left, but with McLaurin breaking into it from the right side, which doesn't look right to me. Haskins looking to hit Sims down the middle of the field, Sims not even looking for the pass. Protection fine
Next throw, 1st play after Collins INT. Turner smartly goes quick game to get Haskins going. Ran spacing concept to the right, Haskins reads zone and works spacing concept. Think he could have hit Sims inside, but not sure how Turner teaches the read. Not great ball placement
1st&goal from 9. PA with "action 2" routes from both sides. Think he could have stayed on McLaurin after safety pass off, which left 2 on Sims. But issue is Scherff missing with quick set. Outside hand down the middle, gets beat. DT gets by him and knocks ball out.
Next throw was on 3rd&2, early 2nd Q. Rub concept to the left with Inman setting a pick for Thomas to work to the flat. Works as designed, Haskins had Thomas outside, not sure why he tried to go inside to Inman. Left foot flies open with a hesitation, drives ball into ground.
1st&10. Play action. Only really 2 routes and a checkdown. Protection big issue here, Roullier gets beat trying to reach 3T, who swims across his face and quickly pressures Haskins. Haskins tries to escape, but eventually sacked.
2nd&15. Don't know Turner's language, WCO would call this "X Hole Spacing". Same play we saw Haskins hit Thomas in the flat earlier. Cards get 2 unblocked off the left, but Haskins throws over them to hit McLaurin, who takes off up the sideline for 1st down. Nice work.
Next play, 1st&10. Love this from Haskins. Has McLaurin isolated to the left on a slant. Knows only the safety can stop it. So Haskins checks the safety, then quickly looks right to the flat. Gets 32 to open hips inside. Haskins then resets and hits McLaurin for 9. Excellent play
2nd and 1, Turner goes back to X Hole Spacing. Cards LB anticipates throw to flat well, gets there quickly. Lost yards.
3rd&4, motion to empty. Looks like a form of dagger with 2 shallow crossers underneath. Don't hate Haskins taking Inman over the middle, would like to see Inman get 1st down depth, but didn't. Also wonder if he could have peaked McLaurin (who is giving Peterson a tough time)
1st&10, clear miscommunication here. Looks like Haskins wants to work McLaurin vs Peterson, but Haskins throws the comeback while McLaurin runs down the sideline. Shame. Had Thomas open over the middle too.
2nd&10. Washington looking to get ball to Gibson with Sims setting the pick for the LB in coverage. LB manages to work through Sims, takes Gibson away. Haskins resets back inside to Thomas. Solid ball placement up and away from LB. Not sure if LB got his hand on it or a drop.
3rd&10. Cards show heavy blitz. Wash picks it up relatively well. Haskins looks left, nothing on. Then takes off scrambling when he had time in the pocket and hadn't checked other side. Gives 42 a lane to disengage and chase down for sack.
2nd&6, 2 min drill. Washington run chains concept, getting everyone to the chains and working back to the QB. Haskins wants McLaurin, not there. Can see him starting to panic as he feels pressure that isn't there yet. But fights himself and resets to hit Thomas over the middle.
1st&15, still 2 min drill. Little under concept here with Sims working deep out and McLaurin breaking inside underneath. Haskins hits top of drop and finds McLaurin in time for 13.
