An interesting dynamic is happening within evangelicalism as we approach the election. There is a segment of the professing church (let’s call them #BigEva) that are dually obsessed with social justice AND preventing Trump from being re-elected. To that end, they are heavily 1/
pushing for the idea that Christians are free to vote Democrat and doing some rather interesting gymnastics to accomplish that task. Mind you, the Democratic platform is almost exclusively anti-God and anti-Bible in every sense possible. They are pro-infaticide, 2/
pro-sexual deviance, pro-Marxist ideology (which is a godless ideology), etc. There is nothing of which the Dem platform can be called godly in any sense. Yet, these BigEva types argue because of Dem support for government-sponsored social justice, caring for the poor, etc 3/
Christians can and should do so, emphatically. They will willingly leap over dead babies in the womb in order to claim voting Democrat is actually biblical. AT THE SAME TIME, these same BigEva types are embracing Critical Race Theory and platforming those who preach its 4/
doctrines. One of the chief tenets of CRT is that one must anachronistically look back at history and decry anyone who might have had even the slightest positive thought toward the institution of slavery. These preachers of CRT are adamant that a person cannot be read or 5/
learned from, and in all likelihood, were not even saved, if they did not denounce slavery at every opportunity. They argue that, if they really were Christians, they would have KNOWN slavery was evil and fought against it. There is NO allowance for any other possible 6/
understanding. To argue for understanding the history in its context, well that’s just defending slavery. So my question is this: if the salvation of the saints of old can be called into question over the issue of slavery, then how does one defend one’s own spiritual state 7/
when one is fighting tooth and nail to get Christians to vote for a party that celebrates the evils of abortion and sexual immorality? End/
