🧵: People can disagree if they want but we need a new Constitutional convention if we make it past Nov. 3rd as a nation.

One thing we've learned from the #SCOTUS vacancy, the Trump presidency, & debates over the Electoral college, is that the framework isn't up to par.
I know there are Dems out there that worship the founders and see the Constitution as sacrosanct.

But learn your history, they new it was imperfect from the outset and it was designed to be malleable with the times.

It's time to make our Constitution work for modern times.
That also means that such a convention needs delegates from the working class and marginalized communities excluded, or non-existent on our shores in 1787.

That process of delegate selection must be truly democratic and transparent and not owned by the parties.
We can't get #MedicareForAll during an as-of-now incurable global pandemic, so I know such a massive national project is unlikely.

That said, it doesn't make it any less a necessary reality.
Whether or not we wisen up to it as the best path forward determines whether we move forward, or face challenges in terms of civil unrest and turmoil we haven't witnessed here in the coming decade.
