(1/5) This weekend, I got a postcard in the mail from the federal government that contained inaccurate information about how to vote by mail in Oregon. This is unacceptable, and I'm concerned it will cause some Oregonians to be confused about how to vote

(2/5) I find this especially ironic since it would be against Twitter's policy for a user to share false information about how to vote in a political election, but apparently it's just fine for the federal government to do so

(3/5) To make sure everyone is clear, you don't have to request a ballot in Oregon! Just like in every other year, ballots will start to be mailed out 20 days before the election. You do, however, need to register to vote by 21 days before the election (Oct.13)

(4/5) Register to vote, update your address, or check to make sure your registration is active at http://oregonvotes.gov  (you've got 3 more weeks to do this, but why wait!)

(5/5) There is no longer any need to add postage to the return envelope -- last year the legislature passed a bill to make this change. Also, you can still drop your ballot in a drop box (all the way up to 8 pm on Election Day, Nov. 3rd), you are not required to mail it in
