today's unpopular opinion: jacob is the worst character in the twilight saga. he serves NO purpose other than introducing werewolves (*shapeshifters) into the story and create a completely lopsided love triangle that isn't interesting bc there is no actual tension in it

he has practically no character development and no interesting backstory that adds to the overarching plot or drama. the depth of his character is never fully explored or explained. he exists only to prop edward and bella's love story up.

and for the "love triangle" at no point does bella even consider him as a real potential lover, even in new moon,,,, which is arguably 95% about jacob. i never felt that bella would ever choose him.

i literally could not tell you one interesting fact about jacob. i couldn't tell you one decent characteristic that isn't directly tied to his being a werewolf/in direct relation to another character.

again no idea where this thread is headed but i hated the "team jacob" argument bc it's either "omg he's so hot without his shirt" or "edward is too mainstream" and YES edward is a manipulative piece of shit but at least he has substance oh my god
