Pretty self-explanatory how well can the full back defend when presented with an opponent to dispossess.

This is to see the player’s ability on the ball and if they can beat their man and drive their team forward, and be dynamic rather than an Alonso type player.

As a a full back in a top 8 team you have to be able to create chances for teammates especially in the last decade.

Analysing Reece James:

- Reece is a superb creator from right back and can beat his man better than nearly anyone.
- he provides a high level of ball progression, do remember teams like Liverpool do focus their build up out wide, while Chelsea not in one particular area.

- defensively Reece James is solid and isn’t a liability, he makes his tackles and interceptions and fairs well in 1v1s.

Overall RJ is a fairly complete maybe 35-65, Defense-attack, which is okay for a young right back, who will most likely mature defensively overtime.

This season with better players up front Reece could very well get 7 PL assists, looking at his xA were he to play 35 or so matches. As well we will have better players on the end of these chances. We can safely say we aren’t investing in a bad right back if anything a gr8 one
