1/4 People entitled to a lay opinion, but, without more, not necessarily entitled to have that opinion taken seriously: eligible US voters. This includes journalists. And actors. And activists. And pols not fitting into the succeeding categories.
2/4 People entitled to an opinion and at least a superficial examination of it: US political and legal historians.
3/4 People entitled to an opinion and a rebuttable presumption of some prima facie deference, even if acting as partisan hacks: US lawyers, and especially #ConLaw types –; but rarely mere legal academics.
4/4 People who ought to STFU: every-damn-body else.
