Hungary acted early, imposed a strict lockdown and was declared a great success. I can’t resist quoting again Pyotr Chumakov:
“Right now the dynamics of the epidemic is different in different countries. In some, an immune layer has almost appeared, which will protect other https://twitter.com/zmkc/status/1308123760009138177
citizens from the spread of the virus, but in those countries where there were strict quarantine measures, there are fewer people who have recovered, and therefore the threat that the virus is still very high. Because of this unevenness,
it is very difficult to talk about when all this will end. Maybe everything will be very stretched over time or by region. There are some countries where everything has already almost passed, and others with a smaller immune layer
(as a rule, these are those where strict lockdowns were in force). For example, in Sweden and Finland, the incidence rates of COVID-19 differ by almost 10 times per 100 thousand population (in Sweden, of course, more due to the lack of quarantine).
But this situation will persist only as long as the borders between these countries are closed ... And then the Swedes will rush into Finland and re-infect a good part of the population.
Interviewer: So that means that for those of us stuck at home everything is still ahead?
Chumakov: Especially for the elderly and all other people with reduced immunity, especially after a long home regimen. But one advice can be given to them: stay at home and
protect yourself by all known methods, until the country gets over the pandemic.

Interviewer - And then they will come out and get sick?

- Even if they get sick later, there is a good chance they will not get so seriously ill as they would now.
As it circulates, the virus weakens.

- Is it not possible that the first wave of isolation will be followed by a new outbreak, and we will be put in lockdown again?

- No, it seems to me that we have to endure as much as possible until the end of May,
and life will gradually return to normal. I hope that our citizens will get used to behaving more smartly and to keep the necessary distance. I think we will have to adhere to these rules for quite a long time.
