We're so excited to announce our new 6-week course From Intent to Impact: Fostering Genuine Relation in Academia Through Mentorship! (thread) https://bit.ly/I2I_Course 

This course is meant for #STEM professors who want to be in right relation with the students they advise and mentor, as well as others in the scientific community.

Academia values power hierarchies, individualism, and perfection. We will take the time to excavate these values from ourselves and replace them with a practice of radical vulnerability, reciprocity, and transparency.

Rather than focus on procedures, practices, and models of mentorship, we will look inward at the beliefs we carry and the values we have had to compromise to get to where we are. We will lay the groundwork from which meaningful action can spring forth.

We will engage with materials and learn concepts, and we will also take steps toward healing from the abusive academic system in community. Because healing those parts of ourselves will create the room for us to dream up different ways of being in academia.

The Intent to Impact 6-week course will be held Fridays from 2 pm ET - 3:30 pm ET starting October 16th. Space is limited to 20 participants and registration ends October 9th.
