I’m in Manitowoc for Joe Biden’s visit today, the first of a few campaign stops in Wisconsin this week. Both Biden and Trump supporters are outside to greet him.
Biden has arrived at the Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry in Manitowoc.
The socially-distanced press setup for Biden’s remarks. He’s touring the facility beforehand.
Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry CEO Sachin Shivaram is kicking off today's remarks by touting Biden's trade policies and said "tweets and tariffs" don't help American manufacturers.

“Even as we have done well, we have distressed to see American manufacturing wither away."
Biden starts his speech by talking about the 200,000 deaths by COVID-19 in the U.S.

“It means there are empty chairs at dining room tables and kitchen tables.”
Biden: "I worry we’re risking becoming numb to the toll it has taken on us and our country and communities like this. We can’t let that happen. We can’t lose the ability to feel the sorrow and the loss and the anger for so many lives lost."
Biden said America could save lives by taking steps like wearing masks and blames Trump's "incompetence" for the number of deaths.

“All the president does is deliberately change the subject," Biden said.
Biden alluded to revelations that Trump told Bob Woodward he deliberately played down the virus because he didn't want people to panic.

“Trump panicked," he said. "The virus was too big for him.”
Biden spent some time attacking Trump's tax cuts, which he says only benefit the wealthy.

“Donald Trump ran for office saying he would represent forgotten men and women in this country," he said. "Once he got in office, he forgot us.”
Biden said Trump keeps his distance from people at his rallies, in contrast to attendees who are tightly packed in and risking exposure to COVID-19.

“One of the benefits of this pandemic is that he doesn’t have to shake your hands," Biden said.
Biden raised his voice some when he talked about reports that Trump called Americans who died in combat "suckers" and "losers." Notes that his son, Beau, served in the military.

“He wasn’t a sucker," Biden said. "He was a patriot.”
Biden: “The middle class built this country, and unions built the middle class.”
Biden made an appeal to Obama-Trump voters in this county and said he understands their frustration, but promised they'll be heard if he's elected.

“It’s about restoring the basic dignity in this country," he said.
Biden concluded his speech by pledging to unite the country and serve all Americans if he wins, not just those who vote for him.

“We just have to remember who in God’s name we are," he said.
