Random long musing alert. Too many naysayers on my TL tonight, hence :

We're used to these takes from the journalists. Every year they make these predictions in the hope of saying I-told-you-so post the event & in case they are proven wrong, they lose nothing. Because, it's Rafa

Let's just sit back and be happy for all that we've experienced. Our man has already had a GOAT-esque career and people might not accept it, but he did it while facing the maximum difficulties off-court.

Roger has always been ahead in terms of majors won, weeks at #1 & yet for me, Rafa was and will always remain the GOAT. Maybe, Rafa will, and I hope that he does, win multiple majors still, maybe ND wins even more or maybe RF still has that one final spark - how does it matter!?

We've had 15+ years of inspiration, comebacks and pure joy. There have been lows too but they make the victories sweeter. The GOAT debate will never have a universally accepted answer. Novak fans already consider him the greatest and that's perfectly fine.

Roger fans have a different view and that's good as well. Rafa fans will always believe that there guy is the greatest and that's, besides being the right choice , a valid opinion too.

I know that when the next tournament starts, I'd want Rafa to swat everybody aside and win it all but, while Rafa prepares for another RG, in the twilight of his career let's all sit back and relax a bit. Why overthink all the scenarios and pressurise ourselves needlessly??.

2015-16 taught me to be always grateful for this phase. RG starts in a week. Hopefully, the event will go ahead with better safety measures & Rafa will be at his lethal best once again. Keep the faith & enjoy!!! It really has been, & continues to be, one helluva ride!!
