eric moved to the states in 2010 and eric was given to him by his mom right before they moved there. he lived in the states until freshman year (9th grade) and left 2 months into high school

he went to korea to finish school and become a baseball player “its not like it didnt work out but it didnt work out. i didnt try” he sort of changed paths because of ♡ GROWL BY EXO ♡ because his sister showed him it

“what if i was one of them dancing and singing?” and then followed his sister to dance lessons and decided to do kpop. he did dance lessons for like 3 days. he planned for 6 months of lessons but got a call from loen (creker old name) and auditioned in LA.

loen got his number from a coordinator that was friends with his momfjsjfjsj his mom was like just try ◡̈ ur gonna fail but just do it!

he was like “i couldnt dance or sing or rap i could just wave my arms and do a self introduction. in english.” and auditoned anyway.

the day of the auditon the company lady was staring at him and beckoned him over and gave him the first number to audition even tho he got there late. that night he got called to audition for the second round for dance, rap, vocal, and acting he was most worried abt acting

he learned a scene from a drama or a movie or something hes setting the scene and recreating it. jesus christ. it was like 3 seconds long and then just awkward silence at the audition

it was just awkward silence and the he ran out the door and the staff chased him and was like HONEY YOU HAVE TO SING and eric was like I DONT KNOW HOW TO SING and then the staff taught him on the spot for 10 min and they let him go multiple times. he sang A WHOLE NEW WORLD

“i didnt know how to sing i was a SPORTS guy. i danced sort of like jacob” (THIS IS DARKSIDED???) he did his one line for acting and model walking and a self introduction and then went back for a THIRD audition and was like “WHAT ARE THEY DOING WITH ME I WANNA STOP”

and he passed and went back to korea to start as a trainee

jacob joined in the same period of auditions, jacob from canada and eric from the states

he was pretty chill with moving around from korea to us back to korea, when he went back to korea to start as a trainee it was like a testing period for 1.5 months to see how he did before making him a real trainee

he went back to the states after and he started 9th grade and he got called back to be a full trainee w/contract. so he wrapped up his us life and went back to korea in october 2015 to be a full time trainee

his family stayed in the us when he became a trainee. nowadays his mom is in LA still, his dad in korea, his sister in nyc

he doesnt regret becoming an idol but he misses baseball/is sort of “what a shame” about stopping it

he says he talked to his mom and sister like friends and vice versa. they didnt really interfere with each other but he says his mom raised him like sky castle “YOU HAVE TO GO TO GOOD COLLEGE BE A LAWYER OR A DOCTOR”

but she still supported his hobbies and social life she just wanted him to study hard as well.

he says ppl probably think he got bad grades bc he was a sports guy but his gpa was a 3.7 and got like one B and all As typically and said “i even know how to solve a rubiks cube”

eric says he doesnt rlly feel like a maknae in the boyz, ppl think it would be hard bc more things to do like chores and stuff, but he cleans the most because he likes to clean lmfao. hes very neat. he says its not ocd but its “close” alright

when they won for danger, he cried because he was thinking about how much they practiced and struggled and put in for the week and a half of preparation. while they were practicing a bunch of them got brusied up and would keep going anyway and those small memories make him cry
