Look: I& #39;m an exvangelical. I grew up in it, spent 2 years of my undergrad steeped in their "higher education" indoctrination. Presidential elections have always been more about the Supreme Court than anything else - because that is what they are aiming for.
The Supreme Court is why evies as a group are behind the current administration. It has always been about overturning Roe v Wade and taking care of all those other pesky "ungodly" laws, be they for LGBTQIA, antiracism, or what have you.
They play the long game. By which I mean for eternity, for the afterlife. For them, this earthly realm is temporary anyway. It& #39;s why they don& #39;t care about climate change. Many are actively trying to bring on the Great Tribulation. It& #39;s all part of the same playbook.
This is why the focus on the Court - its influence reaches out longer than most things, and they know they can make the most change there, can manipulate events on a grander scale to bring about their worldview.
That worldview is Christ& #39;s Kingdom on earth. Literally a theocracy. Any and everything they can do to bring that into being, to set the stage for it, is good - and that includes getting the US to be a theocracy, as it was intended by God and the Founding Fathers.
For the record, I do not believe in any of this. But I hear about it still from parents and see it bleed all over FB. It has been growing louder and louder. If you don& #39;t see it happening in current events, you aren& #39;t looking or paying attention.
