Okay ya'll, so here's government of Canada's written version of the Treaty of 1752, building off of the 1726 Treaty. Even though the text has been disputed, nowhere does it state that settlers have the right to regulate Mi'gmaw fisheries.

In fact, the Treaty says the complete opposite: it affirms our right to hunt and fish and says that we can trade and sell fish or anything else we have to sell to our "best Advantage."

Those are the conditions that the settlers themselves put in their version of the 1752 Treaty.
Of course, there are other aspects of the written document that are in dispute. It builds off the 1726 Treaty, the text of which does not reflect what was agreed upon at those negotiations. We also didn't cede or surrender any land, but that's another tweet for another day.
