Crews claims the fight against COVID-19 is part of an anti-Trump conspiracy and intimated that those waging it should be executed:

In other words, a civil servant paid to promote sound science is undercutting measures to contain the pandemic. He’s contributing to the disinformation campaign that his superiors at the NIH say is hampering the government’s ability to control the virus. https://trib.al/JsoGz2l
Crews declined an interview with The Beast and did not respond to a written list of questions. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, where he works, also did not respond.
