Last night @keithbaldrey on @GlobalBC talked about an early election call here in BC as soon as today. While some believe we don& #39;t need an early campaign, here& #39;s my view on why it& #39;s time to go to the ballot box - and that we can do it safely. #bcpoli #bcelxn
1. The @bcreens formal partnership ended when @AJWVictoriaBC left the Green caucus. Andrew was the key partner to CASA - and a great governing partner for the Premier. But when he stepped down for personal reasons, the agreement became tenuous at best. https://vancouversun.com/news/politics/andrew-weaver-resigns-as-bc-green-leader">https://vancouversun.com/news/poli...
2. New @BCGreens leader @SoniaFurstenau tried tried to torpedo this summer& #39;s budget. Furstenau tried to amend the budget in the legislature with no notice - a last minute surprise that governing partners just don& #39;t do.
6. Last but not least - elections are part of a strong democracy. BC politics is certainly never dull - but it& #39;s up to each of us to participate every few years when called upon. It& #39;s amazing that we get to choose our leaders - whether that& #39;s on a fixed date or early.
