Last night @keithbaldrey on @GlobalBC talked about an early election call here in BC as soon as today. While some believe we don't need an early campaign, here's my view on why it's time to go to the ballot box - and that we can do it safely. #bcpoli #bcelxn
1. The @bcreens formal partnership ended when @AJWVictoriaBC left the Green caucus. Andrew was the key partner to CASA - and a great governing partner for the Premier. But when he stepped down for personal reasons, the agreement became tenuous at best. https://vancouversun.com/news/politics/andrew-weaver-resigns-as-bc-green-leader
2. New @BCGreens leader @SoniaFurstenau tried tried to torpedo this summer's budget. Furstenau tried to amend the budget in the legislature with no notice - a last minute surprise that governing partners just don't do.
6. Last but not least - elections are part of a strong democracy. BC politics is certainly never dull - but it's up to each of us to participate every few years when called upon. It's amazing that we get to choose our leaders - whether that's on a fixed date or early.
